Summer in the Ring is an ongoing piece of speculative fiction that I’ve been working on, inspired by light novels, the work of Ursula Le Guin, Jy Yang, and space operas such as Cowboy Bebop. It’s set in the distant future in an orbital ring close to the red giant sun Betelgeuse. I want to write from an asexual, gender-neutral friendly perspective, and the main character Grei identifies as gender fluid, going by the pronouns they/them. Hope you enjoy!
